For the last couple of releases, we have been able to populate the value of durations using a “readable format”. You can see this mentioned and an example on this help page.
I have searched high and low a few times now for a help page that spells this out in more detail and tells us what values we can use, but I can not find a page that does. In fact the only mention I can find of it is, on the above-mentioned page which includes this example on the page
TaskDuration is Duration = 3 Min 30s
I have attempted to use it a few times and always got errors. In frustration, I took to our Facebook group last week to see if anyone else had managed to find a details help page. No one seems to have found it, but Diogo Lobo, went the extra mile and tested it out and figured out the values that we can use! That is what I love about our community, the willingness to share information and help each other out.
Below are the details Diogo shared on the Facebook group. If you are not a member of the group you definitely should be, it’s a great resource! You can use this link to get there
I’ve made some tests and my conclusion is that you cannot use Min with uppercase “M”, the English help page has it wrong. On the French help page it’s with lowercase “m”.
So, the syntax allowed is the following(all lowercase):
d -> day
h -> hour
min ->minutes
s -> seconds
ms -> milliseconds
As an example for 2 days 1 hour 5 minutes 30 seconds and 444 milliseconds:Diogo Lobo
TaskDuration is Duration = 2 d 1 h 5 min 30 s 444 ms
